February 2022 Sketches 10 - Barry (Pokemon)

Here's a picture featuring Barry from Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/PLatinum. The idea was suggested by Lasciua-Diaboli.

"Then with Barry... Barry, Barry, Barry. He's freakin adorable for one and there's so many potential ideas with him! I think to stick with the wholesome Valentine's stuff I'll go with this idea. At the beginning of the game an NPC says that you and Barry are "tight" and later in the game Barry says that him and his pokemon have gotten out of tighter spots that this before. So tightness seems to be a thing with Barry haha. The idea I have is essentially he gets excited to see his trainer friend on Valentine's day and can't wait but go after them to show them his training but also get to see how they've been doing and hang out again. I think he might have forgotten his size and strength and thudded the trainer into some cramped space or against a wall. So the trainer is stuck between Barry and a tight/hard place. The wholesome thing though I think is Barry giving the Valentine's stuff to him and being an affectionate rival, but while he's there the trainer mainly feels the thuds of Barry's beating heart ;-;"

So here's Barry, after mustering up all the courage after years of knowing Lucas...training himself and his pokemon (mostly himself tho) to become more determined to confess his feelings toward his best friend and rival...

But no matter how much time passes, and how much he trains, his old habits never disappear...Him still unable to stop himself to bump into Lucas, and now, not being able to measure his own strength. 

So here's Barry accidentally pinning Lucas into a wall after finding him hanging around at the beach...seems like Lucas will have a much harder time to escape from Barry's rivalry AND love.
