I am knee deep in my conspiracy bag that Nicki was supposed to be on Industry Baby (LNX practically begs for it in his own verse) and if Nicki played the long game and did it, she would have gotten her WAP moment ten-fold...but since Nicki is homophobic, she blocked her blessing.

What a time! The Iggy vs Nicki era was definitely when Nicki won that BET award and said “if Nicki raps it. Nicki wrote it”! I feel like that tarnished A LOT of people’s credibility down the line! Not even just in female rap 😭

thank you for bringing up the little tidbit about the iggy azalea of it all lmao. ppl were genuinely saying ANY new rap girl out was taking nicki's crown (including that one rapper who made the 'and then you need trainers, what are those' song that liza koshy used to make tiktoks to). all that to say that by the time cardi b came around nicki was rightfully exhausted with every new rap girl that hit the scene.

Nicki didn’t suffer a hate train. She suffered the consequences of her actions fil this day which are: being a vile person who married a S.O, harasses her husbands victim, then went out to have a child with said S.O, she also defended her brother who is also a vile S.O. Ppl weren’t just tired her music & her antics, most fully ppl turned on her when it became public who she was married with & ppl were rightfully disgusted. She reacts to the new girls coming into the female rap scene the same way dictators did when they sensed the end of their reign: paranoia & destruction. Instead of working on reinventing herself & improving her craft, she choses to bully the new girls & aligns herself with problematic men.
