I’ve never seen a post malone performance that made me believe in his talent like beyonce bowl🤷🏾♀️ he just had so much charisma and the chemistry was so good I wanted to listen to more of his music. But with shaboozey I actually like his music and think that he’s very talented but he isn’t making the most of his performances. His SNL performance not good in my opinion, nor was his CMA, and this didn’t hit the mark either. shaboozey just has so much momentum and I want him to keep growing

2025-01-03 15:49:36 +0000 UTCkenya you really hit the nail on the head with this one. as a musician, it’s so mortifying to me to imagine the girls going out and performing off two rehearsals like. i get dizzy if i’m called in for a gig last minute lmao so it’s mind boggling to me that anyone would go out to any stage viewed by thousands and think doing it only a couple times before performing would ever be good enough. reminds me of when you pointed out that alicia keyz fucking up her very first note at the super bowl means she never hit that note in any rehearsal. that is exactly true. you can’t get something you never had. and tbh that IS a harsh reality but it’s necessary to digest in order to get better. having a natural talent is not enough, you have to nurture that talent as well

Think 4, an album that wasn’t edm heavy like everyone was at that time but she stood ten toes down for 4 whether its in the studio or its videos or the era performances. Firing on all cylinders when people who debuted before and after her deadass didn’t put as much effort into their work. Which is why she will be remembered. It feels so earned & rewarding so yes— rehearsal & practice is everything no matter how cringey it is. It is necessary & part of leveling up

If you’re ever interested in anime, there is a volleyball anime called Haikyuu this is one of my favorite shows EVER because while I am not miss athlete, it is so inspiring to watch because the protagonist of the show starts of not being the best at volleyball but he constantly practices & never gives up. Hinata, the MC, goes through all the embarrassing stuff, the losses, but he RISES & becomes a formidable volleyball player always wanting to improve because he has that insane hunger & love for the sport until he becomes GREAT. Obviously the anime is focused on sports but this goes for any profession for anyone who strives to be— not just the best— but just simply being better. There are just some people who cannot fathom Beyoncé’s willingness & care for her art because unless you have it, you don’t get it. I really recommend this anime because it’s one of my favorite character growths as well as all the other players on the team & opposing teams.
