Everything you said about overconsumption and the lack of tween-focused outlets really hit the nail on the head too. It’s hard to say my kids won’t be on social media in the future because I don’t want to isolate them from their peers, but at the same time I just hate the idea of their growth being stunted by a rushed childhood because of the Internet

It’s so hard to get people to realize the thin line between paranoia about “this generation” vs addressing real issues we’re seeing with how kids are influenced. This list was giving very appropriate for a 13 year old, because 13 year olds are adorable yet also outrageous. Mind you I wanted the latest iPhone at the same age 🤣
