"its not my fault other people care" Evan Hansen says to his mom after she doesn't take the money from the parents with a dead child who k worded himself hmmmm
the movie fails for many reason but why the fuck would the viewer care about Connor? he's nasty bully until movie eventually tells us he was good person
Ben Platt terrible performance distracts from Kaitlyn Dever terrible performance
this movie coulda been little fun. but Ben Platt is 50 and there's tone issue and the singing is awkward. and Connor's family has no heart (read Amy Adams and Kaitlyn Dever suck in this) so Evan Hansen lying to them seems very low stakes
