I’m kind of similar to Doja Cat in the sense that I’m also biracial with a white mom and an African dad. My dad has always had a big presence in my life, but i’ve always had more contact with the white half of my family just because they live a lot closer to us. I love my white family and they’ve always loved me the same as my white cousins. At the same time, it’s hard not to feel like an other when you’re the only POC among your own family. Like how you were saying there’s a lot of discussion about biracial people and how they feel othered in the black community but no one really talks about the other side as much. Usually the response to feeling like an other is to try to overcompensate for it and i guess in Doja Cat’s eyes that meant being a white supremacist :/ I can see how she got to the point that she got to, but that is in no way an excuse.
