Classic. I highly recommend “Manhunter” (1986). Brian Cox does a very good Hannibal Lecter too. And, you’ll never hear “In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida” the same way again.

Great reaction Mary, Anthony Hopkins won an Academy award for this role. You were right Hopkins had only 16 minutes of screen time. Also I think that Starling was filmed through the plexiglass wall, it gave her a strange look. Cheers ❤️

Yay! That's fantastic you came to conquer something that eeked you out as a kid. The show Criminal Minds which has been on the air since 2005, follows a team of FBI agents who go after serial killers. The biggest takeaway from that show and these movies, is that there are truly disturbing but intelligent monsters in this world and you need heroes like Clarice who put not just their own lives but their mental health on the line to save the day. I remember one agent who ended up making a deal with a caught killer to see him in person on his birthday every year, and on that day the killer would give the name and burial location of one of his victims. And he did that so the families could have peace of mind, even if its just the body of their loved one. The kind of sacrifice that agents like Clarice make, it's something special. Definitely going to watch your reaction to the others in the franchise.

There are three more movies in this series actually Mary (four including 1986's Manhunter, but that doesn't share continuity): 2001's Hannibal (sequel to this), 2002's Red Dragon (prequel to both) and 2007's Hannibal Rising (prequel to all three).
