I loved this movie when I was younger (teens or early 20s?). But now years later, it's fun to watch it alongside Mary. Really cool that it was shot in Australia. John Woo has directed some great films and has this style which if done in certain amounts it works. Too little and you miss it, too much and you're checking your watch going okay come on. Come on come on. But my absolute favorite scene is when he thinks he has Ethan and ends up killing his own best friend. And then the Original Mission Impossible music kicks in and I'm going yes! This is what I'm here for!

2025-06-21 02:25:29 +0000 UTCPerfect example of style over substance. When this came out it was the coolest shit. It had complementary music videos by Limp Bizkit and Metallica. But it didn't aged well. Too many slow mo hero shots and the overall anime style doesn't quite fit. Even Hans Zimmer couldn't save this one. He even brought Lisa Gerrard, an Opera singer that made the beautiful "Gladiator" soundtrack. Only to copy paste her vocals from Gladiator to this one. So yes, MI2 really stands out from the whole franchise. And not in a good way. With MI3 it gets really better on all departments. Directing, story, characters and funny side kicks. So I'm very excited to watch your reactions to the next ones.

2025-06-20 13:25:00 +0000 UTCI haven't seen many John Woo fims but anytime he directs a movie he always has to have dove's fly in some scene its so funny to me and I love how over the top he does his movies he directed Face off with Nick Cage and that movie is wild. I just think this 2nd movie is a fun journey but the next one is where its like serious story compelling shit and it keeps going
