Vicky was determined to get this shot. We had some safer rocks, but it just wasn’t getting the effect we wanted. So, despite my objections, she stepped out onto the rocks where the waves were hitting the hardest. We only had a few tries to get these shots before she and I were too scraped up and the camera too at risk of salt water damage. I’ll never forget this moment.

This incredible human I would describe as “small but mighty.” She and I met at a beach on Vashon Island in Washington and were blessed to shoot this amazing sunset. Despite the cold water, she was more than willing to get in and create the images you see here: powerful, graceful and confident!

This was my third occasion (and third country) shooting with the magnificent Mihn-Ly. Prior to this, we shot at a passenger jet airplane in an Oregon forest and in a Mercedes G-Wagon in the middle of a Bavarian hay field. Needless to see, our shoots always have an epic feel to them. And this one was no different. We met on a cold January morning at a 100+ year old mansion hotel in Vancouver, BC. I asked her to dress for a vintage mood and we would go from there. How did she do?
