I remember watching this in the theater with my family (familia) it was a fun experience. Maybe you can watch "La Bamba" (1987) someday. Happy Cinco de Mayo Mary😁

Of course "La Bamba" about Richie Valens and the day the music died, as the song goes. "Stand and Deliver" another true story that does what it says lol, it is a great story though, about an incredible teacher and some written off kids from East LA who proved what great teaching can accomplish.

I'm Chicano from California so my movies were all about crime lol, American Me, Blood In/Blood Out, and comedies like Cheech and Chong and Born In East LA. But a great movie no one knows about is The Milagro Beanfield War, directed by Robert Redford. Great little movie I think is based on a true story, great cast including Christopher Walken, Sonia Braga, Ruben Blades, John Heard, and Daniel Stern. Also, Blue Beetle, a really fun and underrated DC superhero movies with a lot of humor from his Mexican immigrant family, the abuela is awesome and reminds me of both my grandmothers lol. Also, Miguel's abuela with the chancla (sandal) hitting the mariachi is so Mexican, I credit my mom with my reflexes, if I pissed her off her shoes were weapons, she'd even throw them at, like my head lol. Which is why it's so funny the family made shoes for a living, weapons for angry moms lol
