2024-12-06 00:57:37 +0000 UTCThey filmed part of this movie in my hometown of Charleston, South Carolina. At the time I was working for Hollywood Video and we were right next door to a hotel. The crew from the movie stayed there over the weekend and rented a VCR. Told us a few stories about Bruce Willis (spoiler alert: he’s a great guy). I was really sad to hear about Bruce’s health. I would have loved to have seen one last “Die Hard” movie-“Die Hardest”. John McClane facing off against Hans Gruber Jr. played by Benedict Cumberbatch.

In a single line he mentions they are stealing and destroying the gold for a group in the middle east so that their own gold will become more valuable, and we can assume that they are carrying anti west sentiment. It can be assumed that the group in the middle east is paying Jeremy Irons and funded the whole operation, but he decides to keep the gold and form his own nation state with his army of mercenaries.
