The final line of the film was considered to be a deep revelation. "Twas beauty that killed the beast". Obviously not.

Confused if Mary had seen prior versions she didn't know Kong dies at the end. The original 1933 version was a box office hit / sensation for the SFX and did terrify many an audience. Parents were advised not to take children.

Good video. When you look back on it, both Kong & Godzilla are tragic characters. This movie is a remake of the original King Kong from 1933 and this is Kong’s canon story. The Monsterverse was trying to avoid doing it again & give Kong new stories to tell. As I brought up, both Kong & Godzilla while different both came from having tragic backstories. Kong was the last of his kind, isolated, and seek companionship. Godzilla depending on the interpretation like Minus One is a creature who was minding his business but humanity’s atomic testings not only mutated him but traumatized him to be now in constant pain because of the radiation knowing humans did this to him which is why he attacks cities. He’s trying to survive in a world that hates him for merely existing. Both are characters we as viewers care for especially when they fight against evil forces. The most times the classic films did to humanize Godzilla is when they introduce his son which many are hoping it happens in the Monsterverse. :)
