She had a hit series called The Mary Tyler Moore Show in which she portrayed Mary Richards, an unmarried successful career woman who worked at a news station at a time where her character was not a feminist but exemplary of the ideals, loveable and adored. It's an ensemble sitcom with a fantastic cast and stories. It would be worth your while to check out a few episdoes, Mary to Mary.
