I wish I hadn't gone to college immediately after high school. Dropped out after 2 years with loans to repay. I didn't know what I wanted to do. I majored in music because that's what I was into at the time. I could've just stayed home, worked part time, and practiced my horn 6 hours a day and became a beast for free.

Dante's fiance was played by Kevin Smith's real life wife, Jennifer Schwalbach, and the little girl who waves at Dante was Smith's daughter Harley Quinn Smith. Also, the guy who buys cigarettes at the Quick Stop at the end was Walt Flanagan, he's old friends with Smith and played four different characters in the first Clerks movie, he also ran the comic book store that Smith co-owned for a while. The show Comic Book Men was about them and that store, it was pretty good, I mean I liked it anyway, and on that was another of Smith's old friends, Bryan Johnson, who Smith has said was the inspiration for Randal. They both played protesters in Dogma too. I just think it's so cool that Smith involves his home town friends in his movies.

I really enjoyed this movie and your reaction. The first “Clerks” was truly a love letter to every person who toiled in the video store or convenient store business. It was a low-budget movie that was made for a demographic that rarely gets represented in films or television. This movie was in color and they obviously had more money, but Kevin Smith never forgot these characters or the fans who love them. I really liked the addition of new characters Becky and Elias. Randal’s commentary at the end about career choices really hit me hard. I never went to college after high school. I graduated and didn’t know what the heck I was going to do. For six months I did nothing and I went into depression. I almost felt like I died. Then I started working for this video store and I spent nearly a decade in that business. Loved it. It changed my life and all for the better. Like Randal, I also got a certificate in criminal justice so if you ever need a Batman, I’m just saying. 😉 But his words really rung true because your passion is your passion whether it’s being a lawyer, a doctor, an artist or a person who works behind a counter that isn’t supposed to be here today.

Are you gonna be watching Secret Invasion as it comes out?

Smack in the middle of it, I believe. The first 3 seasons of that show are hilarious. Him and Ethan Suplee are so good together.

The guy that you said looks like My name is Earl is in fact the guy who played Earl in that show. That's Jason Lee.
