I love this film. The opening scenes really set you up. All dark tones, Amy's character disconnected from the world and what's going on, her alone in a big empty house and her Mum asking how she is doing on the phone. Plus of course the music. It's a bit like a live adult version of the beginning of Up, which always has me in pieces.

It is weird that Arrival and Shutter Island are so similiar in that way :D But On the Nature of Daylight or the Departure just always brings tears to my eyes. The opening scene of The Leftovers, Shutter Island or this movie.
