2021-04-11 07:11:10 +0000 UTCAlso another detail I love is that because of everything Jimmy has went through he's completely forgotten that the cup with the bullet hole is in the bag. Not only does Kim find out about it because of that but Jimmy also offers to get the bag and give back the money to Lalo. You can see Kim in the background looking at the bag when Jimmy says that right before she explodes on Lalo. She knows that if Jimmy hands that bag over and Lalo sees that cup then they are completely fucked. Easily the most intense scene in either series for me, and this is definitely my favorite episode of the series. Every moment is perfect.

It's a great piece of recontextualisation, because when Gus says it Mike gives him a look and his eyebrow goes up a bit. It wasn't planned that way, but the scene completely works on the rewatch as if Gus is telling Mike "You were right in the past about not using fear, I'm going to go with your way"

Breaking Bad starts in 2008, so there is still a 4 year gap between them. I think it's very unlikely that season 6 will skip 4 years into the future, so doubtful that the story will actually bleed into the BrBa timeline. We don't know how long Skinny Pete had been out or if Tuco's sentence is extended (it was already extended once before because he broke a guard's jaw, so he could end up doing something that keeps him in longer).

Gus replies 'I don't find fear to be a good motivator'. Means he must have learnt this lesson Mike imparted between then and now :S EDIT: Ah beat to it :D

In the episode, um, Something Stupid they used a sung version of it in a split screen montage to show them growing apart despite them living and sleeping together. Obviously here it's a montage of the opposite: them being physically far apart but longing to be together. Honestly it's a pretty bold move to use the same song twice for the same style montages, but they pulled it off!

2021-04-11 00:02:27 +0000 UTCIn Breaking Bad, Mike wanted Gus to tell Walt that the cousins wanted to kill him and that the only thing keeping him alive was the fact that he was working for Gus. Gus said he didn't think fear was a great motivator. He obviously used to feel differently. Which means something must've happened with Nacho to change his mind.
