New Asset Pack Release: Minifantasy ♜ Towers

📢 Hey everyone!

I'm going to slightly change the way I announce major asset pack releases on Itch and the way I send you the claiming links for the new asset packs.

So far, I have been sending you private messages with a pack introduction text and the links when a new main asset pack was released. Some of you have reported to me that you didn't know that the claiming links were in private messages (or you were not being notified of the private messages at all), so it wasn't rare that some people missed the links for claiming the packs.

That's why from now on I will announce the new Itch releases with a Patreon post (like this one), with a clear reminder that your claiming link is waiting for you in a private message (like the reminder at the top of this post). This private message will just include the claiming link without all the clutter caused by my talk about the new asset pack xD (I will reserve that clutter for the post like this one :P)

I hope it makes the new asset pack claiming process clearer and easier :)

It's time for a new asset pack! I'm happy to bring you Minifantasy - Towers, an asset pack that focuses on the creation of towers in different styles. The three styles available fit into themes and/or environments already present in the collection, so you will be able to use these towers to enrich your game locations with new interesting buildings. If this new line gets popular, I can see we get Towers II and even III covering other styles fitting more biomes and themes.

As I said, the asset pack focuses on towers (as some of the assets included are clarly tailored to fit tower-shaped structures), but nothing stops you from using the tilesets in other creative ways to create different types of buildings, so I believe this asset pack offers great flexibility, adapting to different use cases.

The biggest challenge for making this asset pack has been the clear distinction in shape and aesthetics for the three styles available. The challenge came from the fact that I was creating 3 complete tilesets for a single asset pack. The three styles included do not only differ in the textures, but also in the structures and how towers can be constructed, so the designing process has been multiplied by 3 compared to regular tileset packs.

It has come with a trade-off; this asset pack contains fewer prop options, but I believe props in other asset packs will perfectly fit the tilesets included in this asset pack.
