IMPORTANT UPDATE:

Without knowing about it, I was violating the Geneva Convention in regard to using the Red Cross emblem. For this reason, I have changed the colour of the Cross in some of the icons from red to green.

I had mistakenly assumed that the red cross symbol was in the public domain, but I have learned recently that International law prohibits the use of the Red Cross emblem by individuals, businesses and other organizations.

Extracted from a Red Cross statement:

"the red cross emblem is an important symbol of humanitarian protection [...] Misuse of this valued symbol distorts its meaning and its protective value for victims of conflict and the aid workers that assist them."

I believe that many of you, like myself, may not be aware of this issue, and I think it's important to share it with everyone. If you have previously used the emblem in any of your projects, I recommend considering changing it out of respect for its significance as a symbol of humanitarian protection. Doing so will also help you avoid potential legal issues in the future.
