2025-04-29 08:29:16 +0000 UTCSome people say she should've been recast, to properly show the age difference (the passage of time) between the first season and the second season. According to said people, she has a very "young-looking" face, that didn't really change much in these past 3 years. Meanwhile, if you compare the game versions of Ellie, you can see she is more mature. For Joel, it's much easier to just throw in some white in his hair/beard. Other people say she's not that great of an actress - obviously this is entirely subjective, depends on what each individual considers "good acting". If you pair these complaints and plenty of others found online with the fact that the 2nd game (which this season and the next will adapt) is at the very least controversial, story-wise, you can start to make an idea about why she gets hate. In all honesty, Pedro would've gotten just as much hate if he wasn't already hated for being in so many projects and people just got tired of seeing him. Abby's actress got off surprisingly easy so far but she'll most likely get more vitriol as this season advances or at the very latest in the next season.
