Imagine if in the movie they did end it with Truman's death! Would be a tragic story rather than a happy ending. Also I LOVE the way that they did end it because we have basically 0 idea what will happen after he left. We can assume that he met Sylvie to have a life with her, but who knows!

Magy, please add Firefly and the follow up movie Serenity to your queue!! It's the #1 rated sci fi series of all time and only 1 season!

I also love how the travel agency has that poster of a plane in a lightning Storm lol. The movie is definitely better after the midway point. When we see production people and the fake elevator. And he's starting to figure it out eventhough he's still shocked smashing into the wall. What a great movie Thanks for reacting to it <3

This came out in the summer of 1998 before the game showSurvivor which was summer of 2000 it was quite the tagline. I see that it has aged well but yeah maybe a remake with technology from 2023 would be cool and Jim Carrey could play Christof but not as the character of Truman of course. My favorite parts are the adds and when fans tried to tell him about it.

Gee, ladies, yet another movie I should have seen ages ago, but would not have watched if you guys had not led the way. It certainly was a different kind of movie than I expected, part comedy, part satire. I found myself alternately sad, confused, hopeful, and finally glad. I enjoyed it, I'm glad I watched, and thank you for stretching my movie watching genres. Ready for another stretch. 💕

Ed Harris was TERRIBLE casting. He was only 11 years older than Jim Carrey, and doesn't really come off as the "old artiste" type that Christof is written to be. He was ony 45 when they started filming! You want me to believe that someone that young at the start of The Truman Show was able to do something like that? And don't get me started on that idiotic beret.
Also, I hate the ending because I want to see Truman meeting Sylvia. And the argument that Truman was only shown as he was seen by cameras for the show, that's not true as many times he was shown (like with Sylvia on the Beach) from non-show cameras.

My favorite Jim Carrey movie that i recommend is Bruce Almighty. Might be biased as I live near the area it’s based in but still 😆

Another movie you might consider is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - a near future sci-fi that’s Jim Carey’s best dramatic role & the best romance movie I’ve seen.

I also want to put in my vote for Rocky as well. The first 3 movies are the series highlights but the whole series is amazing !

Do you take movie suggestions, or is that on a higher tier? If I may suggest something, you and Laura should take up the ROCKY series. You would like it.
