I shall tell you the entire story of the gifting of the three hairs of Galadriel to Gimli. Galadriel is the niece of the greatest of all the elves, Fëanor. Fëanor crafted three jewels, the Silmarils in which he captured the light of the Two Trees of Valinor, which before their destruction by the great spider Ungoliant provided the world with light. Fëanor also desired to preserve one of Galadriel's tresses in a fourth gem not to honor his niece's beauty but to covet for the jewel for himself just as he did the Silmirils. Three times Fëanor requested of her a single hair. However, Galadriel, who can see into the hearts of others, saw the darkness in her uncle and refused all three times. However, when Gimli asks for a single hair for the same purpose, she sees knows it is from a pure heart, so she gives him three. Another thing to note about Galadriel. Because she participated in Fëanor's rebellion against the Valar (gods) out of a desire to rule over a land of her own, she was banished from Valinor and could not return. However, when Frodo offers her the Ring of Power, she overcomes the temptation to seize power for herself, thus achieves redemption and the banishment is lifted. Finally, Galadriel is Arwen's grandmother, Elrond having married her daughter, Celebrían.

AMAZING reaction! It was good to relive the same feelings that I felt when I first watched the LoTr films! Takes me away from the cares of the real world. I’m very happy you are starting to watch these films. Hopefully you’ll eventually watch the Hobbit ones after these ones are done... they are about Bilbo’s journey 😀

Im so happy you are finally seeing one the best film trilogies in the past few decades. Better late than never. You are going to love it, and i see you seem to so far. Two more movies and gets better each movie. Since you are watching this you must watch The hobbit trilogies after. They are sort of a prequel to the lord of the rings so events in that movie happen before this one. You get to explore more of Bilbo and the ring before he gives it to Frodo. It ties in to a-lot of what happens in these movies. The hobbit movies are also amazing movies so please watch them after so that this story becomes much more clear and full circle.

I didn't need the extended edition to get this point, I saw both animated movies from back in the day when I was a kid, The Hobbit and Ralph Bakshi's Lord of the Rings, but I always recommend the extended edition to anyone watching Fellowship if they're not familiar with The Hobbit so they understand why it had to be a hobbit to carry the ring.
Hobbits are the least ambitious, most happy go lucky people in Middle Earth. If I was in this universe I'd definitely be visiting Hobbiton like Gandalf, Bilbo even said they have the best pipeweed, because they're farmers 🤓 these are people who just like living life and don't have an ounce of greed in them 💜

Do you understand why people can watch all three movies in one day, back-to-back? They all feel like this :)
Well done for recognising Ned Stark and Agent Smith.... but you didn't spot Count Dooku... :D
Same actor plays Saruman, and he's famous for playing so many villains (including Dracula) over decades of work - so that's why he feels so evil.
Also, Galadriel is played by the same actress as Hela, Thor's evil sister :)
I loved your facial expressions in this one!

Cool fact is that Gandalf, Saruman, Sauron, and other balrogs are all members of the same race

I love when people get to the end of the movie they say "is that it" or "it's over?"
Me: well it's been 3 hours and 20 minutes.
