When a Catholic Church building is consecrated the foyer (narthex) is not blessed as part of the church. It’s in between the church and the world. In St Peters Basilica on one side of the narthex is a statue of Charlemagne and on the other side a statue of Constantine. The imagery is clear- these guys ain’t saints, but are neither are they of the world. In the Eastern Church we go farther- St Constantine, terror of the heathen and christener of the Holy Roman Empire, pray for us!!

At the risk of being cringe and gay I will share this. I was listening to the last part of this podcast (4 hours) and it was foggy here by the water. I guess I felt inspired. GOB podcast inspired poetry. It may not be well written but at least it's a feather in your cap. "Southern autodidact Gamers, humble T-shirt salesman, and now inspirers of Poetry. Adeodatus Fog rests on this winter's night, And halos round the Christmas lights. There's angels here on the ground, In the veil before the sound, and wisping in the heights. Heaven and the world below, now merge inside the misty glow. The saints and men share the street, where ground the air and water meet, and moisture blunts the cold. Paradise like the end of days, Normally left behind a haze, Has come in one to show, That what was once laid low, will come through smoke and blaze, When God reaps what he's sown, And Gifts back what he's raised.
