where i strongly disagree with you is disparaging abraham lincoln who objectively was a Great Man of History i could understand don’t like him because he wasn’t southern and conquered you - but if he had been your leader instead, or if had been a historical figure from another country’s history say canada or mexico would you have a different view of him? interesting episode as usual, didn’t know auron mcintyre’s show before

It seems you can't get a straight answer from anyone about how things worked out now when you ask them, it's always tinged heavily with their current politics be it Brexit or Remain. Which makes me then wonder how accurate any history of it will be.

2023-10-01 18:29:22 +0000 UTCthe early part where you talk about the fact people don’t realise the system changed, and being in denial reminds me of the european union it has totally changed several times already, but a lot of people still think they can go back to before, or even the 1990s, or just keep things the same and stop ‘progress’ witness brexit as an example - even after finally ‘leaving’ they are still bound up pretty tightly in many ways, ‘sovereignty’ or independence is pretty tenuous
