You only have to ask yourself, what happens to SF and the Bay Area if the tech industry stagnates or move to let say Texas? The same thing that happend to Detroit, Chicago and Philadelphia after industry got relocated to China. There is still Detroit. But its not 1960s Detroit. California will be next. Chicago-Detroit-Cleveland-Pittsburgh used to have a industrial connection. You can still see the skeletons of the infrastructure. How are cities like SF and LA makeing money? And is there trouble on the horizon?

2023-07-01 21:39:53 +0000 UTCAbout Europe it’s probably interesting to look at London - London was a real place, and people were Londoners, but now 75% or 80% of people there are not There are a few streets or estates with Cockneys But most moved out to suburbs - they kept some of have that London culture/community they just transplanted out of the actual city, so Essex which was countryside is now ‘London’ in a way The ‘city’ can sometimes move and isn’t tied to a physical place This is a blind spot of Tinkzorg I noticed on an other episode which I’ll comment on. Maybe he is too materialistic and literal minded but he does not get it
