Alberta has this charitable gaming set up where local charities get a cut of casino money, but they have to send volunteers to work at the casino - I’ve worked as a chip runner many times and have seen a lot of desperate behaviour; put me off any kind of gambling entirely.

Good News: The newly constituted Scout Motors is backing a team that is refurbing a 1976 International Harvester Scout to race in the NORRA Mexican 1000 next month. Bad News: Volkswagen bought the rights to the Scout name, which they intend to use as an EV brand. The sponsorship is to raise brand awareness for the later vehicles.
