not sure where you are from but in the diverse US, most technical people aint white men, I just left a fortune 10 company because of the vax mandate and i would say less than 20% are white males. the vast majority are men and women from the subcontinent on H1B1 visas (previous visa holders and newly printed citizens), in my chain of command, between me and the CEO, (5 layers) there were zero white males.

You say that NGO commissar diversity and inclusion people are getting hired to tech roles, and that these people are useless. This is a misunderstanding. At any medium-large tech company, there's a decent chunk of technical people who barely do any work. No work for months is not uncommon, and no more than a few hours a week is normal. Most of the people in these roles in the west are white men (just because most technical people in the west are white men). There's a term for this, "resting and vesting." So, replacing these white guys with similarly useless D&I hires (or adding to their ranks) won't significantly hurt the bottom line.

I was just happy to earn some cash but I was always confused as to why the guy who hired me would always offer me some work when I went back. I guess employee retention ain't so great.
