That's a good read, I hadn't made the mental connection between the Evangelicals and the NeoCons, but the complete collapse of Evangelical influence does map up well to the failures of the GWB era wars. It's interesting how the NeoCons themselves are being awkwardly rehabilitated by mainstream libs as "never Trump Republicans" while Evangelicals remain completely ostracized from elite society.
