A kind of Marxist critique of Christianity sheds some light on the breaking of the family unit. Basically the argument is that church leaders kinda shunned cousin fukin cause at the time clans (who were very much related in more than a tribals sense) held a lot of power and controlled resources . By invoking God and making cousin fukin sinful church leaders wer breaking the clans bonds. Allowing the church to be more central grow their following and increase their material resource control
