A dimly lit memory - The Corgi Movie Vision (updated 17/2/21)

In hindsight this probably wasn’t worth spending a full week on, it was originally intended to be a quick extra. Nevertheless here’s a look at a once fondly remembered childhood toy.
Thanks to Mike for sending this over - as soon as I’ve acquired a good strong box. I’ll send it back.
Also as soon as I find a free day, I’ll record another Patreon update video - I feel I could do with a good/long ramble.

UPDATE: I’m in the process of uploading a re-edit that removes any mention of voltages as I can see my cock-up over the correct voltage would be a sticking point when this goes live.

This was a good video anyway, one of your best as you got in and did repairs but I think with the extra info you’ve really delivered one of your best works. Hopefully that pays off with views and stats

2021-02-20 07:54:05 +0000 UTCThe "power" of an incandescent bulb is somewhat misleading; 90% of that would've been dissipated as heat whereas with a LED bulb it's the opposite, 90% is light, If want to make it much brighter, you would need to use a Cree style LED with a series resistor and, while there's plenty of power from an external supply to run a 3W or 5W LED, those can get quite hot and would require some sort of heat-sink, all of which adds up to considerable modding of the lamp holder. Still, if it's worth doing...
