Hey guys, I am a little confused about all of the "disappointment" concerning general enemies in most areas. For me, if the boss or "ruler" for a particular area is humanoid, it stands to reason that the majority of minions will be as well. DS2 has mostly human like kings and queens, so I would expect their guards and soldiers to be similar...I do expect that. Yet, I also expect that dungeons and "wild" areas be home to monsters, demons and horrific creations. I can see why most people get bored fighting the seemingly same 'ole same 'ole, but isn't that dismay part of the journey that feeds the emotional state of the player who grows ever closer to hollowing?

Hey Vaati! I was super-stoked to hear your opinion of the DLC, and I really enjoyed the video. Just wanted to say something with regards to the coop area. You said that you beat it first time (major kudos to you pal!) and you thought someone who hadn't wouldn't have enjoyed it as much as you. Well, it took me well over a dozen attempts to solo it. I was not using a particularly strong character or any AI phantoms, however I did not feel the area or the boss were cheap in anyway. Smelter Demon 2.0 I felt had way too much defense and health, plus buffing almost immediately and that fight was not fun or particularly satisfying. However, any time I died to the two tigers I felt was my own fault for making a wrong move and getting punished for it, which is how it should be. Walking through that area was incredible each time and the sense of satisfaction I had when I finally beat the boss was like my first time playing Dark Souls again. Look forward to some more on the Ivory DLC!

I thought th level design was beautiful and "refreshing" for the souls' universe, but those knights...could have been really awesome and for me wasn't. Aava was a nice counterpoint to the battle with Sif in DS1 and having to find the eye first a sweet little touch of exploration reinforcement. Out of the three DLC "maps", I found the third to be the most exciting and visually stimulating, so I don't understand how anyone saw it as boring. I am bummed my build can't use the Majestic greatsword, so in my next NG I may have to switch it up just for that reason. Some of the new rings are interesting and armor design got an upgrade too it seems; updated is a better description I suppose. Having a chance to speak with Vendrick was a high point for me lore wise and I am finding myself wanting another area to explore. The wait for Bloodborne will force me to replay all of the souls'.

Great video Vaati! Can't wait for more, and I agree on most points. Two things I disagree with you on though. As far as bosses the only one I enjoyed was Aava. All three of them had a gimmick of sorts, along with the normal bosses that made it nigh impossible on the first try (except you apparently, lucky fucker.) Aava's was the only one that really conveyed that you need to turn around, as you aren't equipped to fight her until you get the Eye. Of course I didn't though, and died due to my own arrogance. As far as the final boss, I wish it was that the enemies stopped respawning after the King spawns, and the extra Knights could make it go faster. I agree with you that the unnecessary deaths should be avoided, and I don't think it did well to warn you that you will die if you continue without the knights. Also, the two pets. As you mentioned in the video, I said to myself, "Why do I go through all this trouble only to fight a gargoyles wanna-be?" And so I didn't. To this day I haven't killed them. One of the few moments in the game where a bonfire would have been good to place, unlike the base game. As far as the run back, I enjoyed the second run, and having to remember my surroundings. Was it a chore? Yeah, a bit, but not too much really. I really think that's what Dark Souls difficulty is, can you put in enough effort to really take in your surroundings? When I realized the ice faded away, I knew I could finally go back and get the chests I missed, and remembering which chest was a mimic from when it was frozen previously felt fantastic (And holy hell that Onion set!). Honestly I liked it a lot, though I can see why people didn't. All around good video, and I can't wait to see more from you! Every time I watch one of your lore videos I have to sit and contemplate it for a while, they're so good! The Sunken Kings one, man that ending conclusion of yours really hit me hard. Can't wait for the next one, keep em coming.

Hey Brandon, I disagree about the DLC looking boring. I enjoyed everything about it and it being so barren and cold gave me a very nice cold feeling. The level design was great. It's no where near as great as the Dark Souls 1 overworld but I thought that this might be the best designed area of Dark Souls 2. To me personally the backgrounds and general appearance the third DLC was just perfect. About all three of the DLC I agree that they are great value. I spent a lot time playing them. They all have very nice level design, interesting stories and add awesome items (majestic greatsword anyone?). Ranking them is easy though. Tgey got better over time the third one going truly great. I am looking forward to you storytime episode on this DLC. The bed of Chaos is one thing, but I really don't understand how the Ivory king is able of making golem... Isnt vendrick supposed to be the golem creating king? Talking about vendrick I enjoyed the "ending", it's a nice touch and gives a little hope for the poor cursed humans. All in all u enjoyed your video again and I agree on the most parts. Can't wait for the story time and then Finally all the dark souls 2 videos I've been waiting for. So hurry up. Cheers Aaron / Aetohatir
