Edward Scissorhands - Full Length Reaction!

this was our winner of the holiday movie poll!

(at least, it was at the time of watching - I think because I never closed the poll, the results might've shifted around since then!)

hope you enjoy! :)

Edward Scissorhands - Full Length Reaction!

Comments

Wow, I saw this only once, and many years ago! I remembered nothing about the plot, but I enjoyed much more than I expected to. Like you, I was not a huge fan of the ending, wondering why Kim (Winona Ryder) never went back to Edward. I know that some folks prefer a poignant ending, but I'm a sucker for the old-fashioned happily-ever-after ending. Thanks, Camilla!

hahaha... he knocked down a picture on the wall! but neither peanut nor the artwork were harmed in the making of this video 🤣

Hi Camilla. Sorry for my previous rant about Christmas movies. Regardless of whether this is a true Christmas movie or not, it is indeed a beloved treasure of a movie. I have always loved this one. And I really enjoyed your reaction to it. And I hope we get to see your reaction to The Nightmare Before Christmas sooner rather than later. It’s a real hoot. Also, my recommendation for the next Johnny Depp/Tim Burton movie you react to is Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Take care. Merry Christmas!!

In the last like 15 minutes it just so happens to be Christmas. Which, in my opinion, does not make it a Christmas movie. I cannot understand why people have to label something a Christmas movie just because it has like a frame’s worth of something Christmas related. It absolutely boggles my mind.

I might not have caught it if you hadn't mentioned the unusual order of the credits, but I just noticed that Stan Winston is credited with creating the scissor hands effects. Stan and his team have created some of the most iconic and award winning animatronics, makeup, and creature effects in all of Hollywood. You're almost certain to come across some more of his work so definitely keep an eye out! It seems like he has been involved in every one of my favorite sci-fi/action franchises from the 80's and 90's including "The Terminator", "Aliens", "Predator", and perhaps most notably, he is responsible for all of the animatronic dinosaurs and dinosaur puppets in the original "Jurassic Park". If/when you see that one and wonder how they got REAL dinosaurs on set, Stan Winston is how! Looking forward to hopefully seeing some of those as reactions someday!

Please share with us what Peanut got up to. He jumped atop something, didn't he...

Enjoyed your reaction. Anthony Michael Hall who played the loser "Jim" in this movie played a younger kid in both The Breakfast Club and National Lampoon's Vacation. I don't know if you noticed Vincent Price (1911-1993) as the inventor. He was famous -- known for his work in the horror film genre, mostly portraying villains. He appeared on stage, television, and radio, and in more than 100 films. Price has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, one for motion pictures and one for television. Johnny Depp movies that I like: --Chocolat (2000) (Oscar nominee Best Picture) --Donnie Brasco (1997) (w/Al Pacino). Based on true story --Finding Neverland (2004) (w/Kate Winslet). Nom 7 Oscars including Best Picture and Depp for Best Actor --Dead Man (1995) (music composed by Neil Young) --Don Juan Demarco (1994) (w/Marlon Brando)

Happy Saturday, Camilla. Edward Scissorhands (1990) is one of my favorite Tim Burton movies. I even own it on DVD in both Widescreen (1.85:1) and Full Screen (1.33:1) formats.

Yay, I have nostalgia for this movie. Putting on your reaction now.
