Finally got the time to get to this vid - great analysis, as always! Really enjoyed your discussion of the theme of powerlessness and reclamation of lost innocence. This episode is often forgotten about as one of the episodes between Passion and the finale, so it's nice to see it get some appreciation.

2024-05-16 13:17:36 +0000 UTCOne thing that strikes me about this episode is that although Buffy is weighted down by a huge sense of responsibility, she, unlike most past slayers, is not alone in her fight. She has the gang to support and aid her. She could have died a couple of times in this episode -- in the opening scene and drinking the virus -- without support. The gang research what she's up against and run interference for her.
