Hello! Jason here, from the publishing side of The Gauntlet. I'm touching base to let you know about the Gauntlet Publishing Discord server, but before I do, a couple of quick housekeeping notes...
Codex - Home is very close to being finished. This issue features Back Again from the Broken Land by Leah and Alexi Sargeant, one of the most ambitious Codex originals we have ever published, and so we're taking some extra time to make sure we get everything right on the layout side of things. It's a wonderful game, one that I think you're going to want to play (and play again), and I can't wait to get it—and the entire issue—in your hands. In the meantime, please enjoy this wonderful art by Amanda Lee Franck:

The other thing I want to tell you about is Nephews in Peril, an upcoming standalone mystery collection for Brindlewood Bay. That collection is currently being edited, and should be shipped off to layout in the next day or two. We're going to send out a free download from DriveThruRPG later in October to everyone who subscribes to the Patreon at the Codex level, so be on the lookout for that. In the meantime, here's some cover art by Cecilia Ferri to enjoy:

And now for what I really want to talk about in this post: The Gauntlet Publishing Discord server! The Gauntlet has been moving more and more into the publishing side of the TTRPG industry. It occurred to me that we need a space dedicated to the Codex magazine and the standalone games we're publishing, like Hearts of Wulin and Brindlewood Bay (and Trophy, but more on that later), as well as the in-development projects we have in the pipeline, like The Between, Pizza Time!, and Singapore. The Gauntlet Publishing Discord server is a space to talk about these publications, contribute to the Codex miscellanies, and just generally get more involved in the publishing side of The Gauntlet (and the wider industry). It will also be a place to participate in playtests of upcoming games. In short, we want to create a higher level of engagement with, and accountability to, our fans, and there's no better place to start than with our wonderful Patrons. And so I want to encourage you to join the Gauntlet Publishing Discord server, which is linked below.
A couple of things to keep in mind: this is not a replacement for the Gauntlet Slack, which is still a thriving and important part of the community side of The Gauntlet (meaning the side of The Gauntlet that is mostly focused on organizing online games and producing podcasts). Also, this Discord server is separate from the Trophy Discord server. The Trophy community is pretty big (and growing bigger every day), and so it needs its own space, which you can find here:
As always, thanks so much for your support over the past weeks, months, and years. 5 years ago, I couldn't have imagined The Gauntlet moving into the role of publisher, but I'm so happy we're here. It has been such a hard journey (for reasons not the least of which are the fact that I've been battling a life-threatening illness for the last year), but it has been totally worth it. And we couldn't have done it without you.
All the best,
Jason
