2025-05-26 14:54:05 +0000 UTCWith all those loops, I understand the confusion. So allow me just a clarification. Otto in this timeline had never met with Subaru before the hunt for Petelgeuse. What happened with the White Whale was erased from Subaru's Return by Death. So in this main timeline, he met him by this rescue you see there with the twins & Ricardo bringing him back from Petelgeuse's cave. (Last ep from Season 1) Otto was brought back tied up to a wooden branch (because of the twins thinking he was a suspicious guy lol) Subaru said "I wondered where you went, you got caught!" while laughing, and Otto replied "I don't know who you are but thanks for saving me. Actually I'm in no mood to say and mean this, damn it!" since he was tied up and from his POV, seeing this random guy laughing at him. Their relationship began with this rescue and Subaru proposing Otto meets Roswaal for his business, in exchange for Otto's help in catching up to the carriage where Emilia was, which was about to blow up. The rest that follows up is as you know; he went with Subaru to the Sanctuary to honor that promise to meet Roswaal, and now he's in this mess as his dear Friend!
