2025-05-12 10:46:38 +0000 UTCI know it's been a LONG time since that episode 17 from season 1, but now this puts into perspective why Beatrice was SO MAD and HURT, when Subaru with dead Emilia in his arms after trying to tell her about Return by Death in the mansion, asked Beatrice "Please kill me. Right here." she had answered and hinted at all this back then "You would ask ME to KILL YOU? That's too cruel. You understand NOTHING. You understand NOTHING AT ALL. I won't grand any of your wishes, I suppose. If you want to die, die on your own. Betty wants no part of it. Betty is not like Roswaal, even if it would secure a future for me, I've had enough PAIN, SUFFERING, FEAR... Everything, I suppose. At least die where I can't see you, I suppose." her wish for death for all these hundreds of years, was being trampled on by this human asking her to kill him.

2025-05-12 09:20:43 +0000 UTCThe reason Subaru acted like he didn't have any options but to kill Beatrice in the beginning is that the two options are basically impossible for Subaru, the first was to kill her, which Subaru could never do. the second was to "put her first think of her first" etc she wants to be priority number one in Subaru's life, which is something she said she knows Subaru isn't willing to do because that position is reserved for Emilia whom he loves, so she wants to settle for him killing her. Another interesting thing is Roswall beating up Subaru and saying, "even after all this you have no mind to start over?" It implies he doesn't know the conditions by which subaru activates return by death he simply knows when things go wrong subaru can somehow go back and restart. roswall is definitely the one person who cannot know about the true condition to subarus power. subaru lowkey pissed me off with him not wanting to see beatrice body that lil girl like bro that lil girl just killed petra fredreica and probably rem too 😂
