This episode always hurts to watch people react to but it makes everything so much better once you keep going

I don't care how much people ride for em "look at all hes been through, he's just human, you'd do the same" etc. etc. its why I dropped the series halfway through and my stance hasnt changed but imma stick with you for the journey anyway lax

2025-02-17 22:30:36 +0000 UTCThat last scene is hard to watch, but in the best way. Subaru is easily one of the most human, well-written protagonists in anything I've ever watched or read. We know by now that he's obsessed with trying to make himself look good in front of Emilia. Here, when he tries to convince Emilia that he was doing everything for her sake, and she hits him with "It was for you, wasn't it?" The way he just sits there, stunned, and covers his mouth with his hands in fear, because he knows damn well that she hit the nail right on the head. And then, instead of humbling himself and apologizing to her for everything, because he's too scared to confront the ugly parts of his personality, he doubles down in the worst possible way and yells at her about how she should feel INDEBTED to him. And it's so realistic too, I've seen a lot of people who would rather die than admit that they're wrong about something.

It probably takes a huge toll mentally to die so many times and not be able to talk to anyone about it. He’s desperate in protecting Emilia but ended up doing more harm than good. He feels very human not sure if I would act that way but who knows maybe dying a lot changes a man lol

2025-02-17 11:45:20 +0000 UTCto be a candidate in the throne battle you need to be selected by the insignia and you need a supporter/attendant ,Roswaal is basically Emilia's supporter in the royal selection for the throne , just like all the other candidates had their knights Emilia's is Roswaal that's why he said I'm feeling kinda out of place in front of all those knights because he's a mage , and not any mage , the strongest human mage in the kingdom.

2025-02-16 19:02:47 +0000 UTCSubaru got carried away, forgetting that this isn’t a game where he’s the main character, forgetting everything except his selfish goal of getting closer to Emilia to prove himself. At this moment, it's very interesting to see whether he will show wisdom and strength to fix the situation on his own or take the path of failure, one that abuses his power in an attempt to fix things. I think most people would choose the latter path.
