Quick Question About Akira

I haven't committed to that just yet but it's looking like that may be what I finally decide. My question is which is preferred more SUB or DUB?

The dub isn’t GREAT but it has its charm. It’s not bad by any means. The Akira dub came out in 1989 I believe so it’s the best they had at the time, I would say for a first watch do Sub but if you ever want to watch it again go Dub.

This preserves the creators' intent and cultural nuances, and the original performances often convey emotions more authentically, allowing us to connect more deeply with the characters and story. However, there are also some good dubs available. 🤷🏻♀️

(Not saying that DUB had no emotions.) Just saying as for me. Also LOVE THE REACTIONS! Been with the channel for 4 1/2 years!

2024-10-16 17:47:06 +0000 UTCYea man ultimately I'd say make the final decision on your own. If you choose the dub though, you will have to decide between the 2001 or 1988 dub lmao. I'd go for the 2001, since it is more accurate to the original script. These are all opinions (besides the script part) but don't feel regretful choosing anything. No matter what you choose, someone somewhere will complain you didn't watch the other version LOL

I did some digging around before I watched the film & everyone had the same point which I think is worth saying here to you: Dubs in the 80s/90s were amazing. You will enjoy either just the same for Akira tbh. I personally would watch the dub to fully & properly appreciate the visuals
