If the catcher drops strike 3 after the batter swings then the batter has the opportunity to take first base, provided he isn't tagged out/beaten by the throw.

Poor Ono didn't deserve that at all but honestly that shit would hurt so bad. Furuyas pitch PLUS the force of it coming off the bat? Yikes. I'm chalking Inuis injury up to Ochiais jinx powers. He told Miyuki not to get hurt while he was away and another catcher got hurt instead lol. I'm taking that as a karmic misdirection 🤣 that could've easily been Miyuki and I would have blamed Ochiai 100% for speaking it into the universe.

2023-06-02 03:15:04 +0000 UTCWith 2 outs if the batter strikes out and the ball drops and the catcher doesn't catch it they have to Tag out the batter with the ball or throw it to first for the out. So that is what he was doing when he placed the ball on his chest.

I've found it kind of cool to see what some of these specialty pitches would look like in real life.

The car scene too where even Nabe tears up, both of them are 3rd years and not on the starting line up I think that resonated with him. Also that scene with Inui where he was hit. If a pitch is strike 3 but the catcher drops it or goes by him its a live ball so it has to get thrown to 1st like the one with Miyuki or tag the batter. So for Inui to still have the instinct to tag the batter even though he essentially blacked out gives Rock Lee vs Gaara vibes, Inui tough. Great reaction, can't wait for the next.

2023-06-01 14:44:04 +0000 UTCbasically the scene where mei throws the changeup and miyuki is shook asf is mei proving his superiority. mei is very well aware of how good of a pitcher is, and how is arsenal is pretty rock solid. throwing it at miyuki was kinda like mei saying, "we're a battery right now, but so what. if you can't even catch that, what are you gonna do against me in the summer?" mei is quite literally the king of the mound, especially in west tokyo, and he proves to be the biggest wall seido has to climb in order to get to the summer nationals.
