Mei is in the cleanup so he's actually a good batter, unlike most pitchers (also like Furuya) he's a scary person to pitch to. Thats why he bats after Harada. Basically he's like Masuko in value in the batting lineup.

2022-02-18 04:48:46 +0000 UTCI always state this but episodes like this are why Ace of Diamond is the best sports anime in my opinion. This is a game between 2 teams that arent our main team. The fact that the manga creator carefully plans out each team and player to the coaches and makes them all really likable. You can relate to everybody and see the struggle each team puts in. Damn never every team has multiple players that stick out and make a lasting impact on you.
