Yeah like others mentioned he wouldn't have been able to catch it. Sometimes the baseball just sails a lot further than it looks. He was right against the wall and it was still 5 feet further nobody is catching that.

His success isnt easily given and that's why I love this anime! Also, I dont think Furuya couldve got that ball. It was high yeah but it reached far over the fence so unless he climbed he wouldnt be able to reach. And because he was facing backwards expecting it NOT to go over he didnt get the opportunity to climb the wall. Thats why everyone was shocked because a high ball going that far? Yeah Raichi is a monster
