Label 5 has been completed and I have to say that this has given me the biggest headache so far. Changing eyes and hairstyles 3 times on the same model because there were constant technical problems. In addition, because the set is so big and detailed, I had to be careful not to have more than 3 people in the picture because otherwise my VRAM didn't play along (I need more Patreons so that I can buy an A6000 ;DDD). I'm already afraid of Label 12 because I know that I'll go through the same thing there, only in a worse form and with more renders...
So far my previous estimates of renders per label have been pretty spot on. Assuming my current average throughput of 35 renders per day and no unexpected additional renders, I should be done with posing/rendering of all the static renders by the beginning of July. Then I would calculate 1 week per animated scene + 2-3 weeks for editing, audio, playtesting and proofreading. That would mean the end of July/beginning of August for the release.
Until then, however, I still have as mentioned a very annoying label and 2 animated scenes ahead of me. I have also extended the end of the chapter slightly. This will be the first time that there will be an ending that will only occur if you chose specific things in previous chapters, going back as far as chapter 1.
The next chapter will definitely be shorter. 4.5 - 5 months of uninterrupted work is too long for me personally for the future and I would like to stick to the announced 3 releases per year (calculation based on the length of chapter 2). For that the 3 month I worked on chapter 2 was pretty much the perfect length, so that I can have some downtime of 2-3 weeks after the release, which I need to keep having fun with this. I am not a person who can take a break after I started working, so I start a chapter, finish it and then take a little break.
That's it for this time. Until next week.
