Chapter 3 - Progress update #14

This week I got close to finishing the static renders for the intimate scenes, at least the ones I was able to do without finished animations. I expect about 60-100 more. These are the renders that will be inserted right before and after the respective animation.

That means I will start working on the animations next Monday. I have added the estimated number of renders to the progress overview. I am still unsure which variant I want to use in this chapter. The choices are:

This week I have officially completed the static renders which are purely story related, 3470 to be exact. Also all labels so far are already edited, so no more time investment needed for those.

I expect about 200-300 additional static renders in the context of the intimate scenes, either starting them of, ending them or connecting the individual animations. These should be finished by the end of next week at the latest.

Chapter 3 - Release Dates

Disclaimer:

I included two weeks of buffer since the chapter will most likely exceed 40,000 words, which will require more time for proofreading. Also, I will create all of the animations custom and by myself this time, unlike chapter 2 where only 30-40% were created by me and the rest were made with custom ordered templates.

If the chapter is finished sooner, I will adjust the dates accordingly. For now, please expect the release to occur on these dates.

A day early this week since I will be busy tomorrow.

With Label 13 complete and the 3200 render mark passed, we are now on the home stretch as far as the static renders are concerned. It's been a productive week, with an average of 50 renders per day (take that Pirate Man). Label 15 is finished, and Label 13 should be completed within the next two days. After that, I have two weeks of self-hatred with Label 12 ahead of me before the fun but challenging part of the animation process begins.

When I started I quickly realised that this chapter was going to be bigger than all the previous ones, so I adjusted my production planning slightly. This week has been rather unspectacular again. Two days ago I broke the 2000 render mark for this chapter. I think from the end of next week I will be jumping around a bit with the labels. Label 11 and Label 14 are the spicy labels of this chapter and will be finished at the very end of the production cycle. Chapter 3 - Progress update #7

With this week's completion, Chapter 3 is officially larger than Chapter 1. In terms of the number of renders, it should be about halfway there now. However, the exact number is difficult to predict, particularly because of the intimate scenes. I don't write these scenes in advance, but rather start posing and see where I end up once I'm happy with the setup.

Label 5 has been completed and I have to say that this has given me the biggest headache so far. Changing eyes and hairstyles 3 times on the same model because there were constant technical problems. In addition, because the set is so big and detailed, I had to be careful not to have more than 3 people in the picture because otherwise my VRAM didn't play along (I need more Patreons so that I can buy an A6000 ;DDD). Today I learned how to stack geoshells and then copy the mats to the newly created surfaces of the other geoshells without it looking like shit. So that's in these specific images:

I found the wind simulation button in Daz3d, did that manually up until this point. Look, wusssshhhh. Also playing around with some color adjustment settings.

I've now looked at some other recommendations for changes to my image creation/editing process, and there is one thing many of them have in common. They all suggest rendering at twice the size and then downsizing back to the desired resolution.

Chapter 2 - Release dates

The new release dates for Chapter 2 are as follows:

  • Tier 3 - 28.02.25 (depending on your timezone it's the 01.03.25)

  • Tier 2 - 03.03.25

  • Tier 1 - 07.03.25

  • Public release - 14.03.25

Despite the rather spontaneous decision to ask someone for help with the dialogue corrections and the rework of the prologue, the release, at least for Tier 3, has slipped into February.
