Rob has turned down the music so that everyone hears him begin the countdown as he holds up his watch arm and counts the last minutes of the year. The nodding of his head is his audience's visual que that he's about to count the next number.

Faye's voice joins the chorus of people starting to chant. Her head feels slightly dizzy as her heels slitter to a hault. She had still been dancing right up to the final moments and been so lost in the joy of movement that the music had continued playing in her head rather than stopping. It waa only when she realised that everyone else had stopped did she lower her arms and turn to face Rob.

"Fee!" Faye lisped along. Her mascara lined eyes widening as she realised her slur and she raised her glass suspiciously and giggled to herself drunkly, covering her mouth as she recieved a look. She shot a dirty look back, who doesn't over do it on New Years Eve?

"Twoo" Faye extended the word to sound like the 'twoowit-twowhoo' sound of an owl. She was good at animal sounds she thought. She knew that Cows say moo and cats say meow and dogs go woof. What she didn't know what what came next in the countdown. Wasn't it three after two? She looked about herself anxiously, feeling threatfully aware that a moment ago she had been holding the answer on the tip of her tongue in expectation but after distracting herself it had simply gone. Burst like a bubble. People next to the fretful young woman began to share looks of concern as they watched her hop from one foot to the other.

There was jubilant cheering and Faye felt someone clap her on the shoulder before a friend leaned in with a smile to hug her. Faye also felt a her panties getting wet.
