Tea

My father-in-law had monthly business in Hong-Kong, as a small gift he would typically return with a small jar of loose leaf tea for us. It was a small commodity in Asia but first grade tea was expensive and hard to come by back home. If I'm honest I'm not a big drinker but I appreciated the gift, if any thing its a novalty to forward to each month and packaging is always elaborate and exotic.

My wife loves tea, she drinks most of teas we receive or we'll take them in to other respective workplaces for our colleagues . In fact she's becoming a bit of a conissuer like her father, because he often brings back new varieties.

This month we kept the tea for ourselves. Or rather, Julia kept it for herself as I wasn't fond of the herbal blends unusual aniseed taste. Presumably it has star anise as part of the traditional medicinal blend but neither of us can read Cantonese very well so we're unspefic on the ingredients listed.

It's ironic that my Father-in-law introduced the blend to us a 'medical tea' because Julia has been experiencing a health problem lately. Don't tell her I said so but she's been wetting the bed, at had a few daytime accidents as well. Her doctor obviously recommends restricting her intake of diuretics, such as tea. I gently remind of this because waking up on wet sheets hasn't been comfortable for either of us but she still insists of drinking the herbal tea, she thinks it's medicinal properties will help get over her illness quicker. Thankfully we've arrived at a compromise. I've stopped hassling her about her tea habit and she's started wear adult nappies.

Maybe it's weird to admit but think she looks cute in them and she likes that they make her bum look bigger. She also claims they are comfy, better than pyjamas but I'm not inclined to try them myself.

I've also abstained entirely from drinking any of that tea. It might just be a coincidence that she starting wetting since drinking it but maybe not...?
