I do actually enjoy making these seating concepts, maybe if only because I miss a little air travel. Of course, I've never had the pleasure to experince something as nice as this, but I can dream.
I just really love that Scandinavian Modernist aesthetic that has a reliance on warmer tones and wood finishes to give a sense fo warmth and coziness despite being a highly clean minimalist setup. It's something I've found super useful for +700, such that this ridiculous setting with hyperspace travel and talking robots can feel more welcoming and warm than alienating. Designing accomodation of any kind then lends itself for me to really flex that sensibility.
There is a bit of a scale issue with this concept in that I think the distance between the footrest and the seat itself is a bit too far, and I think it would also have benefitted from a higher angle. Nonetheless this is still ID portfolio material, I hope.
Inspirations of course include a lot of real designs for business- and first-class seating on large airliners.
