Hi everyone, things are moving along well in production land:
The Adelaide fleet video is finally at the editing stage. I started writing this video nearly 3 years ago, and almost gave up on it a few times. Even just a few weeks ago, I was feeling pretty uninspired by it.. but now that I'm starting to see it come together into an actual video, I've swung right around and think it's going to work really well. It's pretty long, somewhere around 38-40 minutes at this stage. It's not necessarily a lot more detailed than what I've done for Melbourne, but it combines multiple things I've covered for the Melbourne fleet into a single video. What will make this one quite unusual compared to my normal style is that quite a few other photographers have provided images and footage for it, due to my own coverage of Adelaide being pretty limited in some areas. It's probably still more than 50% my footage (just a rough guess), but at the moment there are 7 other photographers who have kindly provided images to use, plus some from the Weston Langford collection. I'm making really good progress on the edit, and at the current rate expect to have it done within the next couple of weeks. But don't quote me on that.
The Belgrave/Lilydale video has basically been on pause until the Adelaide video is out the way, so that'll be back on the production line very soon.
As many of you noticed, I recently turned on the patreon live chat feature. If you click on the little chat symbol, you can now see a live chat thread I started, which members are able to use at any time. I'm pretty sure you can also start your own thread if you want. Please be aware that I will try to check these fairly regularly, but won't always be able to respond quickly and may miss some things - if you want to ask me a question it's still better to message me directly.
Something else I'm in the early stages of working on: I've started outlining a video about disability accessibility of the system, which will basically be what we do well, what we don't do well and what some easy improvements would be. I'm in contact with someone who is a wheelchair user, and a regular user of all Melbourne's transport modes who is giving me advice on this, and the video will likely include some interview footage with them.
Hope you're all doing well!
~Martin
