What lurks in the shadows?
In the dark depths, whispered by some as the Underdark, lies a realm not of light but of hollowed secrets. A sprawling network of caves, caverns, and vast voids that lurk beneath the ocean's bed and the sun-kissed realms above. Yet, the diversity of this subterranean world rivals that of the surface. Vast, silent lakes, fields of fungi stretching beyond sight, barren wastelands of mineral-deprived rock, molten lava pools, and chilling voids form the tapestry of its biomes. Far from the embrace of the three suns, life in these stygian depths has evolved uniquely. Some races, like the Dark Elves, kin to the Dunkelyn, sought refuge here post the Demon Wars, fleeing annihilation. Over eons, these elves have adapted, both in culture and physique, to this unforgiving realm. While their surface kin bask in light and hues, these subterranean dwellers are the legacy of the Dunkelyn from Obscuria, a universe untouched by suns, birthing life forms of a different ilk.

Though the dark depths is rich in treasures, minerals, and peculiar creatures, venturing into its heart is no mere feat. Only the bravest couriers and traders dare tread the few navigable paths, making exchanges between the surface and the abyss minimal. The cultures that know the sun only through songs and tales view it as an alien, perilous realm.
