His job is to get on base (which he does well). It got me thinking about opening matches (curtain jerkers). What is the job usually of the performers in the opening match of any show? Is it to set the tone for the rest of the matches the remainder of the night? WWE has had a few opening matches that have stole the show. Not sure if that's by design or just a happy accident. Thanks guys!
