I feel bad for the "Cameraman" Sim Snuka/Deuce like it must have been so fast, and I dont really understand what WWE thought would happen, because he had to drop the camera and then catch Taker in short time window, Poor man

2025-07-04 23:01:24 +0000 UTCIt’s the little things that make this match. The crowd. The commentary. Ref Marty Elias and his perfect cadence. The “cameraman” was actually a wrestler (Sim Snuka aka Deuce). I don’t know why Deuce gets blamed because Taker clearly didn’t jump the right way and he was also holding a heavy camera! Taker says the missed dive adds to the match anyway. Believe it or not you’ve seen ref Marty Elias before, and it was during the Prince Puma (Ricochet) vs Fenix Lucha Underground match. Maybe another potential Tally Time match now you both know who those guys are way better. And Tally, Michaels IS the Showstopper, it isn’t a move name. And he certainly stopped this show because morning was gonna follow this. And it didn’t.

Josh I’m so happy to get to watch you enjoy this all over again, and Tally, your reaction was everything I was hoping it would be. People are going to think I’m crazy, but you can keep Okada VS Omega, or any of the other legendary matches that we have nowadays, call it nostalgia, call it whatever you want, or maybe it’s just a different taste, well I don’t think it’s that because I actually do love those other matches too, so maybe different taste isn’t it, but whatever, the point is, I’ve still never seen a better match than this, people can cry! It’s just like the way that HBK moves in the ring, when he’s ducking Undertaker’s Punches and stuff like that, he’s just like smoke. Even if someone wanted to argue that other matches are better, and by the way I’m totally not denigrating anyone who has that opinion, it is after all just wrestling and we all love it, but even if someone wanted to say that there are better matches than this, dude the way that Shawn moves in the ring is still the smoothest I’ve ever seen, I’m not saying that other people aren’t able to do more athletic things or even have better matches, all I’m saying is that there is just a weird smoothness that he has that I still have not seen matched. It’s kind of like when Will gets thrown off the top rope and just lands on his feet like it’s nothing, another wrestler who I have seen have that just natural movement is AJ, but anyways, I don’t know man, everyone can have their favorites, and I’m pretty sure this will always be mine. JR is at his all-time best here, a Chokeslam, and a Last Ride, and a Tombstone, and a kick out, and a kick out, and a kick out! Don’t worry y’all, I got you. Hopefully someone can submit some of the other matches next month, but I will be doing the second one, I won’t leave y’all hanging. it’s been a while since I have been watching late at night, so hi Josh.

This led to one of the most nuanced and well told character arcs going into the sequel at wrestlemania 26, especially for the time. The WM 26 match most likely has a top 5 WWE video packages of all time.

2025-06-16 10:30:54 +0000 UTCOne thing I really like about this match is how well they portray Undertaiers size advantage in a way that doesn't make the match unexciting. Many matches either do it in a boring way or completely ignore it. The layout of this match was so effective at the time that I have seen "they're all trying to be Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels" as a criticism of when a card is poorly paced, due to some of the lower card matches being overly ambitious in terms of their layout, with lots of finisher kickouts etc.
