Yeah, this was after Danielson's big ROH title run. He was very much in a giving back mode at that point to help build the next stars. Based on talent, he had a good shot of making it big, but his size and being a more technical guy made it less likely. This was the middle of the WWE monopoly era, so if Vince didn't like you, you were SOL. I have heard in interviews that Mark Henry lied about Danielson's height to help get him in the door.

2025-06-10 19:31:50 +0000 UTCWell, everybody knew that Brian was special. The fans didn't chant best in the world for nothing. But I don't think anyone really thought that they could become a big thing in the WWE. The only Ring of Honor transfer before Brian was basically Punk, and up to this point he was only used in the MidCard. So there was no way to predict the influx of Ring of Honor talent that would make it in the WWE.
